Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry founded on the conviction that every family should have a decent, safe, and affordable place to live. We partner with low-income, hardworking families and the community to build simple, decent, and affordable housing. Established locally in 1992, Habitat La Crosse has built 41 safe, stable and sustainable homes for families in need.
Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area serves a four county region: La Crosse, Vernon, Trempealeau, and Houston MN. We build and renovate single-family, owner-occupied homes. We operate with a small staff and dozens of volunteers.
Funding for our programs comes from a number of sources:
- Donations from individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations
- Grants from public and private foundations
- The Habitat ReStore
- Special events such as Raise the Roof, Women Build, and House of Hope
- Mortgage income from the payments made from current Habitat homeowners
Our offices are co-located with the Habitat ReStore, at 3181 Berlin Drive in La Crosse.
