About Us

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every family should have a decent, safe, and affordable place to live. We partner with homeowners and the community to build simple, decent, and affordable housing.

Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area serves a four county region: La Crosse, Vernon, Trempealeau, and Houston MN. We build and renovate single-family, owner-occupied homes. We operate with a small staff and dozens of volunteers.

Funding for our programs comes from a number of sources:

- Donations from individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations

- Grants from public and private foundations

- The Habitat ReStore

- Special events such as Raise the Roof, Women Build, and House of Hope

- Mortgage income from the payments made from current Habitat homeowners

Our offices are co-located with the Habitat ReStore, at 434 Third Street South in La Crosse.
