Construction has begun on two Habitat homes in the Coulee region, with the third to start in early Fall! People of all skill levels are welcome; part of our mission is teaching construction skills and we welcome you to join us in our efforts to eliminate poverty housing.

Houston, MN

We will be selecting a family and beginning construction of our second home in Houston County in June. For more information or to volunteer your services, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Rachael Eaton.

All construction volunteers are required to submit a signed liability waiver.

Group Volunteers: We generally reserve Saturdays for groups and we can accomodate approx. 16 people per day. If you have a larger group or wish to come on a different day, let us know as early as possible and we can try to to arrange it. Sign up soon because our schedule fills up quickly.

Requirements for groups are as follows:

  • Please identify a group leader. This is the contact person for the group and the person with whom we will communicate.
  • All volunteers need to fill out and submit a liability waiver. This is the responsibility of the group leader.
  • Habitat for Humanity provides water but lunch should be provided by the group.

The Fine Print

We require that all volunteers sign and submit a Liability Waiver to Habitat-La Crosse Area for each house and/or project on which they work.

  • Please download, read and sign the Release and Waiver of Liability Form (PDF).
  • If you are younger than 18, the Release and Waiver of Liability Form for Minors (PDF) signed by a parent or legal guardian.
  • For groups, please submit the signed waivers one week in advance of your scheduled shift. For individuals, bring the signed waiver with you to the work site. We also have copies available on site. You will NOT be allowed to volunteer without signing a waiver.
