Construction volunteers help build homes for our partner families. They help throughout the whole build process and perform most of the tasks needed to build the house. No construction skills are necessary, and all we ask is for our volunteers to come with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills. There are supervisors on site to guide you through all construction projects being done that day.
You can volunteer both as an individual or group. Usually groups come out on Saturdays, but we do make exceptions. Individuals can come during the week or on Saturdays when a group is not signed-up.
You must be 18 years or older to volunteer on the construction site or 16 years or older accompanied by a legal guardian.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities
Thursday-Saturday 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Individual hours are more flexible with volunteers leaving sooner or later depending on the day. However, we ask that all volunteers arrive by 8:15 am.
Critical Home Repairs
Volunteers also help with critical home repairs. Small groups of volunteers go to houses around the La Crosse area and fix parts of preexisting homes. These tend to be smaller, daily construction projects.
