House of HopeBecome a Board SponsorYou're not a business owner? No problem! Encourage your employer, church, or favorite businesses to become a Board Sponsor. It's easy, free, and a great way to help eliminate poverty housing!
How Does it Work? The House of Hope is one of our most successful annual fundraisers. Last year we raised over $25,000! Click here for the House of Hope Fact Sheet (PDF). 2x4 or 2x6 boards are displayed at Board Sponsor locations throughout the community. Each board has a collection box, signage, and colored markers. Members, customers, and employees of the Board Sponsors who wish to support Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area sign their name on the board, and make a donation of $1 or more. The event begins with the distribution of the boards and collection boxes to Sponsors. The House of Hope board sponsors display and promote the boards until September 4. The boards are then used to construct the House of Hope Float. The float is placed in the Oktoberfest Maple Leaf and Torchlight parades. There, people who signed the boards enjoy searching the float to find their name. At the conclusion of Oktoberfest, Habitat volunteers dismantle the float, and the boards are used in the construction of the next Habitat House. All the money from the sponsors and collected from signatures will be used to build the 2009 House of Hope for a family in need in the La Crosse Area.

If you'd like to hang on to the board for a bit longer, no problem. Return it when you're ready.
Volunteer OpportunitiesWe're looking for volunteers, individuals, or groups who would like to help make this event a success! If you'd like to help with delivery and pick-up or float construction, click here to send us an email! Thanks much to the youth group of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Holmen, and Bruce Anderson, for helping us prepare the boards.
