How to ApplyVernon County: send an email to inquire. La Crosse and Houston Counties: Once a year Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area holds Homeowner Expos at which we explain the homeownership program in detail. This is the only times we accept applications from people interested in becoming Habitat homeowners. Generally the Expos are held in the latter part of the year to select families for the upcoming year; the last Expos were held in November 2008. If you are interested in receiving notification of the next Homeowners Expo, fill out the form below and we will contact you to invite you to attend. Sign up to be on our La Crosse/Houston Notification ListExpo DetailsRepresentatives from the Family Selection Committee are on hand to explain the Habitat program in detail, and to assist people in filling out the applications. Attendance at a Homeowner's Expo is mandatory to receive an application. The Family Selection then reviews the applications, based upon the four criteria we use to select partner families: need, ability to pay, willingness to partner, residency. If an applicant does not meet selection criteria, he or she will be notified. If the applicant does meet our criteria, a credit report will be run and a representative from the Family Selection Committee will schedule an interview and a home visit. |
