COMMITTEES

Please check the box next to a committee on which you may be interested in serving.

When volunteering to sign up for a committee, please keep in mind a couple of things:

1. We ask you to commit for a full 12-months so that there is continuity within the committee, and so there is time to teach you about Habitat for Humanity and allow you time to be a productive, contributing committee member.

2. We try very hard to utilize the skills and talents of volunteers, but we sometimes are so busy running a project or event we sometimes don't get back to you as quickly as we'd like. So, if that happens, please accept our apologies up front, and... please be patient!

Construction Committee plans, schedules and organizes construction of homes while maintaining good working relationships with volunteers and homebuilders. Requirement: extensive construction experience and knowledge.

Faith Relations Committee builds and maintains relationships with area churches. Serves as public relations and marketing liaison with the faith community.

Family Support Committee keeps families informed of their requirements and works to ease the process to home ownership. Minimum of a one year commitment required.

Family Selection Committee conducts searches for families who qualify to partner with Habitat for Humanity.  Committee members host Homeowner's Expo, interview applicants, explain requirements, conduct credit and reference checks to verify the families’ needs and financial capabilities, and recommends to the Board of Director which family(s) to select for partnership. This committee has periods of 2-3 months of intense activity, followed by several months of downtime based upon the scheduling of our Homeowner Expos.

Fundraising Committee develops and initiates ideas for fundraising activities. This committee usually meets during the weekday, generally at noon.

Habitat ReStore is a retail outlet selling new and used building materials, and we need volunteer support in a number of areas: inventory management, cashiering, data entry, volunteer coordination, etc.

Site Selection Team investigates potential sites for building or rehabilitation.
