Critical Home Repair

Critical Home Repair (CHR) addresses major safety concerns in homes by making necessary repairs at a subsidized rate, allowing homeowners to remain in their homes.

what does it do?

Our Critical Home Repair program will focus on both exterior and interior home repair services such as roof repairs and replacement, wall repairs, floor systems, electrical, plumbing and HVAC, and handicap accessibility issues. Groups of volunteers will work alongside the homeowners to revitalize a home’s integrity.

who is it for?

CHR helps low-income homeowners who are affected by age, disability or family circumstances and struggle to maintain the critical integrity of their homes. Through CHR, they are able to reclaim their homes with pride and dignity.

is it free?

No. We will assess the repairs that we can help you with and tell you how much it will cost us to complete them. We will not make a profit on the repair; the price will simply reimburse us for our costs. As this is a repair and not a rehab program, we don’t anticipate any repair costing more than $10,000. If you cannot afford to pay us in one installment, we will issue a zero-interest, five-year loan.

what CHR is not:

  • A remodeling service.
  • A quick fix.
  • A giveaway program.
