Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Partnership
- Together, Thrivent and Habitat for Humanity help families in need of a safe and decent place to call home. We work with members of the community—who put God’s love into action by pooling their power and passion.
- Families work alongside Habitat, Thrivent clients, churches, and other volunteers to help build or rehab a home to build strength, stability, and self-reliance.
- From the partnership’s inception in 2005 Thrivent and Thrivent clients have contributed more than $267 million and more than 6.2 million volunteer hours to Habitat to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing for thousands of people.
- Thrivent remains one of the largest non-governmental supporters of Habitat for Humanity. See the Fact Sheet at Thrivent.com/HabitatResources for more information.

Are you a Thrivent Financial Member?
Thrivent Members can increase their impact to our mission through Thrivent Choice Dollars® and Thrivent Action Teams!
Thrivent Choice Dollars®
Use your voice to make a meaningful choice! Thrivent members have input into where some of Thrivent’s philanthropic dollars go through the Thrivent Choice program. Since 2010, members have used this program to direct $300 million to churches and nonprofits nationwide.
Members can help direct Choice Dollars® in two ways: specifically assigning them or by participating in voting events. Members who have Thrivent life insurance, health insurance, annuities, or who hold a Thrivent Financial volunteer leadership position receive Choice Dollars® to be assigned to things they support — like Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area! It doesn’t cost members anything extra, so you can increase your impact easily for your favorite cause! You can direct Choice Dollars to as many participating organizations as you'd like, but you may not direct less than five Choice Dollars to an organization. To see how many Choice Dollars® you can assign, login to your MyThrivent account or call 800-THRIVENT (800-847-4836) and say “Thrivent Choice” when prompted.
Thrivent Action Teams
Another easy way to help Habitat build up our community is by forming a Thrivent Action Team. Action Teams receive $250 grants to bring Thrivent’s mission to life by doing projects that benefit our community. Projects can include things like organizing a day of volunteering on a Habitat home or fundraisers that raise awareness and funds for our mission.
Every Thrivent member is eligible to lead two Action Teams per calendar year. To organize an Action Team, apply online today! Lead your volunteer team in a one-time fundraiser, service activity or educational event that can be completed within 90 days. Once your project is approved, you'll receive a Thrivent Action Kit, including promotional banner, invitations and thank-you cards, Thrivent Action Team T-shirts, and a $250 Community Impact Card you can use as seed money to purchase project supplies and create promotional materials.
