Programs Available to Homeowners
ReNEW Volunteer Improvement Programs
A small army of volunteers will help spruce up properties in the Lower Northside Depot Neighborhood. Joining forces with the neighborhood residents, they will to help improve La Crosse’s historic neighborhoods. Projects may include:
- Interior and exterior home repairs
- Yard clean-up and landscaping
- Painting and painting prep work
- Planting flowers, trimming shrubs AND MORE!
- This program is available to all income levels.
Coulee Region RSVP Handyman Program
The RSVP Handyman Program provides limited fix-it services for individuals in need in our community. Our volunteers donate their time and skills at no charge.
- Provides small home repair services to help
individuals with disabilities, those who are low-income, veterans and seniors. - Homes must be owner-occupied.
- This program is available only to income eligible applicants.
Critical Home Repair Program
- This program offers 0% interest loans to income qualifying Owner-occupied Properties.
- Loans can be repaid in monthly installments over a 1-5 year period.
- A volunteer component will help keep the cost of the repairs down.
- This program is available only to income eligible applicants.
Couleecap Affordable Housing Program for Housing Rehabilitation
- Provides an average of $4,500 for housing repairs in the form of a forgivable loan.
- The loan is forgiven at a rate of 20% per year, with the total amount forgiven after 5 years.
- The repairs may include painting, plumbing, electrical, windows and doors, foundation repair, roofing, siding, gutters, and more.
- This program is available only to income eligible applicants.
City of La Crosse Housing Rehabilitation Program
- This program offers 1% interest deferred loans up to $25,000 for repairs on your home, not payable until you sell or transfer your house.
- The repairs may include plumbing, electrical, painting, siding, foundation, roofing, and more!
- This program is available only to income eligible applicants.
