On January 31, 2010 Habitat for Humanity celebrated the completion and dedication of its 31st home.This home, the first Habitat home built in Houston County, MN, was sponsored by Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity and the Houston Chapter of Thrivent for Lutherans, with additional support from Western Technical College's Architectural Drafting class.

On November 7, Habitat for Humanity celebrated the completion and dedication of a home in partnership with the Yer Yang and Kou Xiong family at 910 Hope Court in Holmen. This home was sponsored by Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity, State Bank Financial, La Crosse Community Foundation, with additional support from Couleecap and Western Technical College's Architectural Drafting class.

On October 9, we took 2nd place in the nonprofit division of State Bank Financial's 18th Annual Chili Cook-off, and 1st place in Best Artistic Display. Thanks to everyone who voted for us, and thanks especially to our volunteers who worked long and hard on the event!

Thanks to Andrew Dahl, Dahl Automotive, and Line-X and Clearview Designs for their donation of a Mazda pick-up truck! This will take the burden off of our volunteers and staff, who have been using their own vehicles to haul tools and materials to our worksites. We deeply appreciate it!

In August we will welcome our two new VISTA's to the organzation. Sara Halberg will work as our Fund Development Coordinator, and Rachael Eaton will be the Volunteer Coordinator.
