Community Outreach AmeriCorps VISTA

Help increase HFH La Crosse’s impact on housing by creating educational content & engaging with the community about affordable homeownership.

  1. Education: Work with the Community Outreach Director to create eucational opportunities about affordable housing in La Crosse. Focus on reaching a broad audience through many modes of education: blogs, tours, photo and video creation, and social media campaigns.
  2. Communication: Research, collect, and organize outreach and communication tools that agencies - specifically Wisconsin Habitat affiliates - can leverage in support of affordable housing.
  3. Collaboration: Collaborate with local and statewide partners to inform and inspire outreach efforts.

Sustainability Coordinator

We are looking for a full-time sustainability professional to support the implementation of its environmental initiatives and programs. The Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for strategically developing, executing, and expanding these programs using skills in project management, partnership development, communications, and fund development.

RePair Specialist

The Repair Specialist works directly with the Repair Supervisor and volunteers to rehabilitate homes in our community for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region’s RePair Program. This program provides repairs on homes with a focus on emergency, accessibility, and aging-in-place repairs. This is an opportunity to get direct experience in all areas of the construction trade.

Construction Specialist

As a Construction Specialist, you'll study fundamentals of building layout operations, working with volunteers, site management, and practical residential construction practices. You'll be instructed in safe and proper use of hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary power equipment. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to apply framing, interior finishing, and exterior finishing techniques at job sites.
