2010 Homeowner's ExpoFamilies with low to moderate income interested in learning about building with Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area are welcome to attend an upcoming informational meeting:
10:00 a.m. to Noon Onalaska Public Library Onalaska, WI Habitat for Humanity-La Crosse Area will be starting a home in Holmen, Wisconsin in September and is seeking a family with which to partner. The home will be built with donated money, materials, and labor, and when complete the partner family will buy it from Habitat for Humanity through a zero-interest (0%) mortgage. Attending the informational meeting is the first step in becoming a Habitat-La Crosse Area homeowner. If you are unable to attend but are interested in applying, please notify us in advance to receive an application. Attendees will learn about Habitat for Humanity, how it works, and be asked to complete an application. Members of Habitat’s Family Selection Committee will assist attendees in filling out the application form, so those interested in applying MUST bring the following items: • Proof of income (either the last two pay stubs or 2009 income tax return) Selection is based on applicants’ present housing need, willingness to partner (including completing 350 hours of “sweat equity”), ability to pay the interest-free mortgage, and residency.
