ReNew the Block Tree Planting

Wednesday, October 22, 12-4pm
Volunteers will assist with digging holes, prepping mulch rings, planting shade and fruit trees, installing paver edging, and laying mulch. In total we’ll be planting 44 trees: 15 in the boulevard, 10 in the school forest, 11 in the fruit gardens, and 8 in the edible schoolyard. The work will be led by Coulee Region Ecoscapes with support from Western Technical College Landscape students. We’re looking for 15 volunteers each day who are comfortable using shovels and rakes and able to lift 50+ pounds.
Special instructions: Plan for working outside and wear layers. Closed-toed shoes are required. Work gloves are NOT provided on-site so please bring a pair with. Bring a refillable water bottle and a sack lunch/ snacks if desired. Prompt arrival time at the start of your shift is important for the safety orientation.
